MARK BOLER

For US House of Representatives, Texas 26th District

Sovereignty

The United States is a sovereign nation.

We were founded as a Constitutional Republic. We are not a true Democracy. We have no higher authority that we are beholden to. Attempts to have us succumb to the wishes of foreign organizations such as the UN, the International Criminal Court, NAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and CAFTA are a threat to our independence as a nation. Membership in these types of organizations transfers power from our people to those unelected foreign entities.

We are a nation made up of sovereign individuals. The rights of the individual are not given to those individuals by government. Those rights are inherent in our individuality and come from our creator and not granted by government.

The United States government was created for the purpose of protecting the sovereignty and the rights of the individual. If we enter into entangling alliances with foreign organizations that do not respect individual rights, we have those rights taken from us. I oppose any and all efforts to restrict our rights. I oppose the UN in its efforts to impose a direct tax on us. The UN and organizations like the UN only serve to gain power for themselves. So I support the withdrawal of the United States from the UN and any other organization like it. I oppose all efforts to hand over control of our lives to, for instance, the Codex Alimentarius Commission, which would take away your right to healthful vitamins, and restrict your freedom to even grow your own food. What freedom loving people would knowingly give away sovereignty to anyone else? I certainly won't.

The United States is a Republic. Being a Republic means that our rights are to be protected by government. It does not mean that government grants us those rights. It means that our rights are already ours and are there because of our creator, or because of our humanity. A democracy means that representatives are selected in order to grant or remove certain rights, and that those rights are granted to us by government based on the wishes of a majority of the other people. Nowhere in our founding documents does it mention the word democracy. This is what it means to me to be sovereign and I will fight any attempts to inhibit or control our sovereignty.

Please vote Mark Boler for United States Congress, 26th District of Texas on Tuesday November 8, 2016.
