Government is the biggest threat to your liberties and your privacy.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin.
I believe we can resist terrorism and protect the people of this country without giving up any of our essential liberties. The Constitution states that we have the right to be secure in our property and our persons. I believe we must limit the ability of government to collect and store data regarding our personal matters. I do not support a national ID card system. I oppose the Real ID Act, which will actually do nothing to stop terrorism but will instead provide a police state in which you can be stopped and must "show your papers"; while only living peaceful lives. I would fight to end eminent domain abuse, end the provisions of the Patriot Act where the government has the right to issue its own search warrants and restore the requirement that it get the warrant from a judge. I would end the requirement that banks must report all deposits of more than $10,000 in your bank account.
